The NBA publishes the three officials of every game the morning of the game (around 9 AM ET). This page lists them as they appear, and next to each name the number that matters for a bet: fouls per game in the games that official has worked, compared with the league average. A crew that calls three more fouls than average means more free throws, more minutes at the line and a different total than the market priced at open.

How to read the crew numbers
- Fouls/G is the average of personal fouls called on both teams in the games that official has worked this season and last, from the box scores.
- "vs avg" is that figure minus the league average across all officiated games. Positive means the crew calls more than an average one.
- Avg total is the average combined score of the games he worked. It is a tendency, not a prediction: the teams still matter more than the whistle.

When does the NBA publish referee assignments?
The morning of the game, usually around 9 AM Eastern, on the league's official site. This page picks them up in the morning ingestion and again before tip-off; until then a game shows "crew not published yet".
Does the referee matter for player props?
At the margins. A crew that calls more fouls produces more free throws (points props), more foul trouble (minutes) and slower games (pace, rebounds). It is one input among several; PropLab weighs it inside the Game Context block, never on its own.
Where do the fouls-per-game figures come from?
From the box scores of every game each official has worked in the seasons PropLab has ingested: total personal fouls of both teams divided by games. The league average is the same figure across all officiated games.
What is a "high-foul" referee?
One whose crews average clearly more fouls than the league figure. The "vs avg" column shows the gap; anything above +2 fouls per game is a real tendency, anything within ±1 is noise.
Why are some crews missing?
Because the league had not published them when the page was last refreshed, or because a game was added or moved. Refresh after 9 AM ET on game day.
